This is a nice bag full of the different seeds. Worth the cost. Just received, so I don't know how they will germinate, but hopeful.
Even though I have not purchased this product I couldn't allow a false statement concerning triticale. It is NOT a gmo. It is a hybrid grain that can occur in nature when plants cross pollinate.. Developed by a Scott in the 1800's I believe. So no worries. And from someone who was raised in a farm ranch community, it is considered by many to be a "super grain". Now that you know the truth make your own decisions
Seems to work well. Northern Alabama, planted in my three 8X4 garden boxes the first week of October, was lush and full by mid-November.
March update, cover crop had no trouble surviving many days of sub-freezing temperatures, and was incredibly lush by the time I tilled it into the dirt in mid-March, over 12 inches high.
I saw one review that said the cover crop was returning and crowding out their garden, but you have to make sure you till it into the soil at least 2-4 weeks before planting. Also covering with cardboard or weed-block to speed up composting helps.
It says no till but it really needs tilled.
Sprouted in less than 2 days. I planted some in soil and some in a tray with paper towels to actually see how many sprouted... and was an 100% success rate.
